Google chosen as official innovation provider for GOP Convention...

Google has formed an unusually high-profile political partnership with the Republican National Convention as the official "innovation provider", powering the Minneapolis-St. Paul-hosted event's website using Google Apps, Google Maps, YouTube and several other interactive features. The convention will be held Sept. 1-4, and is expected to draw at least 45,000 conservative activists and create an estimated $150-$160 million dollars in economic stimulus. Glad to see that the RNC is finally pulling its head out of its nether-region when it comes to using the best technologies the internet offers political groups.

I have applied for credentials to cover the convention as a new media correspondent, but no word yet from the party insiders if my application made the cut. I did get an e-mail from the party about 45 minutes before the press release this morning of the Google news, so perhaps I will be getting news soon...

Experimenting with circaVie timeline creator to track presidential hopefuls on road to the White House...

I stumbled upon circaVie while browsing new Web 2.0 startups, and I was immediately impressed by the widgets offered to bloggers as a means of presenting informational of temporal significance in an orderly and easily navigable fashion. The idea of presenting, or more specifically searching, information according to time-characteristics has long fascinated me, but heretofore few startups were dabbling in technologies that offered such advanced tools for presenting information along a timeline. I will be expanding upon the timeline below as the primary season rolls forward. I welcome any volunteers who would like to contribute to the content included in the timeline, as I would like to make it as comprehensive as possible, including articles, videos, podcasts and photos to provide every conceivable angle on the primary contests. Simply send me a request and I will forward you an invitation to contribute.

GOP finally starting to understand the power of Web 2.0...

I recently received an anonymous comment directing me to a new social bookmarking site that is dedicated to promoting stories and ideas that are favorable to the right-minded reader (pun intended). For the last year or so, the Web 2.0 sphere has been dominated by the communists, and it is high time the more intelligent and responsible aspects of American political discourse take back the internet from the likes of Reddit and Digg, who overtly censor the information submitted to reflect their Democratic biases.

They certainly cannot suppress us any longer, or complain because of a supposed "lack of balance". What is really hilarious to me is the fact that so many liberal bloggers have used these self-censored forums to blast Fox News and Rupert Murdock for their supposed lack of balance. GOPHub.com offers the first Web 2.0 site that is completely dedicated to furthering the cause of conservatives and I am excited to see it grow and mature as more conservatives come to understand how to utilize it to reach new readers and proliferate intelligence. I encourage everyone who cares about keeping the GOP in control in 2008 to submit stories and contribute to the fight of the right to take back the internet!
