John F. Kennedy has become something of a modern myth. Those of us who are history buffs know how truly incredible he was as a political figure, but often times the substance of what he actually stood for gets lost in the mythical fog of hindsight. Hulu has brought Kennedy, as well as America's other recent presidents, back to life in rebroadcasts of interviews each gave prior to being elected. The below is taken from Congressman John F. Kennedy's first appearance on Meet the Press and originally aired live on December 2, 1951. The second video is the first interview granted by Senator Kennedy, again to the panel on Meet the Press, after announcing his candidacy for President and aired on January 3, 1960.
As a student of politics and a passionate believer in globalization, I have become increasingly frustrated by the sense that we, the next generation of world leaders, have been completely marginalized by selfish and unimaginative lawmakers in capitols around the world. It is my hope that this blog can serve as a forum for young, ambitious and articulate men and women who get it. What kind of world do you want to inherit?
